This Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance review contains no spoilers. When Gundam fans try to convince the general public to give the franchise a try, they’ll often say, “unlike most mecha shows that focus on the robots, this one focuses on the characters.” There’s a mindset amongst more casual viewers that Gundam as a whole is just giant robots punching each other with no depth to speak of, which couldn’t be further from the truth.

In a franchise with as long a history as Sonic the Hedgehog it’s no surprise nostalgia plays a huge part in what certain segments of the fanbase want to see in new entries. Some long for more 2D Sonic in the style of his earliest games. Others cling to the hope that characters from the various ‘90s animated series will turn up again one of these days. The loudest and most persistent request though hails from fans of the Sonic Adventure games.

Captain Picard shouting “Shut up, Wesley” in the season 1 Star Trek: The Next Generation episode “Datalore” has gone down in history as one of the most famous lines in the series. Now the hate for Wesley Crusher, played by Wil Wheaton, has always been overblown but even people who like Wesley have to admit, this line is hilarious. But if things had gone a little differently in the history ofStar Trek, Picard may have shouted “shut up, Wesley” for more than just speaking out of turn on the bridge.

Star Trek has a mixed record when it comes to introducing new alien races. Sure, even non-hardcore Trek fans can list off facts about Vulcans, Klingons, and the Borg, but there are many, many more aliens that fall into obscurity. Mostly because they’re one-off guest aliens used to set up the ethical dilemma of the week. But every so often, the makers of Star Trek bet BIG when it on a new alien species, confident they’ll become a major recurring element of the Trek franchise.

They legit could have just tossed all of them in a fire (this has happened to materials from other brands in the past) instead of letting fans get their hands on them It really is a miracle we're getting these.

“Hasbro hates Power Rangers because it doesn’t want to keep paying to store a mask with 30 years of dry rot.” Brand owners seldom are good stewards of their own history. It really is a minor miracle most of this stuff still exists to be sold and wasn’t destroyed decades ago.
