A rare indoor red clay tennis court in Ames offers tennis enthusiasts the chance to play on the same surface used at the French Open, completely free of charge. Vitaly Pecharski, who began playing tennis 12 years ago, was inspired to build the court after a friend in Las Vegas constructed a similar court a few years ago. "The reason why we wanted to build this court is a friend of mine," Pecharski said.

Professional golfer Brandt Jobe has played in the Masters, U.S. Open, and various playoffs, but he said the most nervous he's ever been in his life was watching his son's Major League Baseball debut with the Detroit Tigers. Brandt Jobe is in his ninth season on the Champions Tour. His first PGA Tour win came when he entered the 50 and older league at the 2017 Principal Charity Classic. Jobe returns this week to the Principal Charity Classic for the first time since 2022.

The French Open crowned its champions this weekend on that famous red clay court. I found the SAME red clay used at Roland-Garros in Ames, Iowa, and guess what, the facility is open 24/7 and free of charge. So cool. Check out my Sunday Sports Extra on @KCCINews https://t.co/w0sIKQuymo
