    LIVINGSTON PARISH — After noticing changes in the color and movement of one of her eyes, a little girl’s family is still processing a cancer diagnosis and the fact that their blue-eyed girl will lose her left eye. Breelynn, who is only 19 months old, was diagnosed just days ago with retinoblastoma, a cancer that develops in the retina and occurs mostly in young children. While the survival rate is high, there is also a high chance that the child will need their eye removed.

    BATON ROUGE — A Baton Rouge Police officer is in critical condition after a crash involving his motorcycle that is being called an “intentional, targeted hit” on the officer. Sgt. Caleb Eisworth, a 23-year veteran of BRPD, was hit yesterday, June 16th on Prescott and Joor Roads near Greenwell Springs. Local unions are now coming together to help Eisworth’s family with bills incurred from his medical stay.

    LIVINGSTON — The bond for a man accused of a crash that killed Walker High School senior Blakeleigh Weems on New Year’s Day 2024, has been revoked and he’s now back behind bars. A Livingston Parish judge said that Shawn Robertson Jr.’s failed three drug tests. Robertson is being held in contempt of court for 18 months while awaiting trial.
