The Last Of Us is a heartbreaking TV show adapted from a heartbreaking video game series. Both versions follow two loners, Joel and Ellie, as they travel through the apocalyptic nightmare that has become the United States. They soon become a makeshift family as they trauma bond while on a quest to Seattle. So, when Joel gets murdered in the second game, Ellie sets out for revenge. The second season of the HBO Max adaptation picks up this storyline from The Last Of Us Part II.

With Fear Street: Prom Queen hitting Netflix this week, it would have been easy to make another list of movies that take place at prom. Or even revisit dance horror. I’ve written many streaming guides and would like to do a victory lap for a few topics. However, none of them gave me an excuse to share my knowledge of YA fiction until today. I was obsessed with Fear Street as a kid. I still have my collection of the popular YA horror detailing the murder and mayhem in Shadyside. These books have moved around the country with me. If the internet reaction to Sinnershas taught us anything, it’s that many people don’t know how to discuss Black cinema. Unintentionally (or through blatant ignorance), many critics, outlets, and content creators have been saying the quiet part out loud. There have been a ton of silly takes that have become loud reminders that we need so many more Black critics, interviewers, etc. Luckily, a few amazing Instagram accounts have been breaking up the nonsensical Sinners discourse.

Wunmi Mosaku has always been the reason for the season. I first saw this powerhouse on Netflix’s The End of the F***ing World, and I’ve been obsessed with her ever since. I know talent when I see it. However, other couch potatoes might know her from shows like Luther, Loki, or even We Own This City. Mosaku has been nearly everywhere these last few years because she stays booked and busy. However, many people are just now discovering one of the best actors of her generation because of Sinners.
