Nor would you imagine that you can take a relaxing sauna in its massive basement bank vault—but indeed you can, ever since the Bouldering Project opened in the historic University National Bank Building in late 2024.

Usually, a bus arriving at the downtown Greyhound station on Chester Avenue is an unremarkable event. But last Friday morning, a bus rolled up and created a bit of a scene. People on foot and in cars stopped to watch, pull out their cameras, and ask questions. The attraction? A 1947 Greyhound bus, worn down by the years but still magnificent in sleek blue and silver, had arrived on a flatbed truck.

I’m not sure if my on-and-off headache is due to my recent cold or the impending election. Probably a bit of both. Add in a serving of early November winter-is-coming darkness, and I need to focus on recentering and resetting myself. Maybe you do, too. What to do? I’ve already deleted my news apps from my phone, and I’m doing pretty well with consuming smart articles and podcasts more than I’m clicking on polling websites. But I need a little more. Here’s what’s keeping me sane right now.

Until a few weeks ago, our first-floor bathroom was over 100 years old. The cold water tap barely let a trickle out – the ancient pipes were corroding from the inside. There was no light switch, just a tippy-toes-high switch on the single wall sconce. The door didn’t lock anymore. The century-old floor tile never, ever looked clean.
