    At least 13 people have been killed in a landslide in eastern Uganda, but officials fear that the true number of dead is much higher after 40 houses were swept away. The landslides triggered by heavy rainfall affected multiple villages in the Bulambuli district, about 280 km (178 miles) from the capital Kampala. The Ugandan Red Cross Society said at least 13 people have died, but AFP has reported the death toll could be as high as 30 people.

    Four people have lost their lives in separate road accidents, adding to the rising toll of fatalities on Kenyan roads. In one incident, a motorcycle carrying two pillion passengers was involved in a fatal crash. Police said the rider was using the Isiolo-Marsabit road in the Lerata area when he lost control of the motorcycle and fell on the tarmac road.

    Woman jumps to death from 19th floor of View Park TowersIn a tragic incident, a woman on Wednesday jumped from the 19th floor of View Park Towers in a suicide mission. Police said they received a report that around 3:45 pm, Charity Muthoni Mutoi aged 45 years jumped from the floor, from where she left her shoes, jacket, and mobile phone. She however fell on top of a tent erected on the ground floor where she succumbed to the injuries.

    At least 51 people are known to have died after torrential rain caused devastating flash floods in south-eastern Spain. In the town of Chiva near Valencia more than a year's worth of rain fell in just eight hours and local officials say it is "impossible" to put a final figure on the number of people who have perished. Footage uploaded to social media shows floodwaters causing chaos in the wider region, knocking down bridges and dragging cars through the streets.
