    The Waynesboro Area YMCA received an unexpected bequest of over $100,000 from the late Dottie Davis. Some of the funds were used to renovate five rooms, totaling over 6,000 square feet, primarily for children's activities. Renovations include a new Community Room, an expanded Child Watch area and a revamped teen center called The Hub. The Y also received donated furniture and supplies from First Start Partnerships. An electronic sign also will be installed at the Y, thanks to Dottie Davis' gift.

    A new DG Market opened in Greencastle, Pennsylvania, offering fresh produce, meats, and standard Dollar General items. The larger store replaces an older Dollar General location. A grand opening celebration will offer gift cards and tote bags to early customers. Local organizations can apply for literacy grants through the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. The new DG Market at 602 N. Antrim Way, Greencastle, opened for business on April 4 and a grand opening celebration will begin held April 26.

    A severe thunderstorm caused widespread damage and power outages in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, on April 19, 2025. Over 550 calls were made to 9-1-1. Downed trees and power lines were reported throughout the southern part of the county, particularly in Mercersburg, Greencastle, and Waynesboro. Thousands experienced power outages, with some residents not expected to have service restored until April 23.
