A well-written character is one that changes and evolves throughout the run of a story. In Dragon Ball, there are plenty of examples of this occurring, thanks to an incredible run with multiple arcs and series. Whether it's the original Dragon Ball, its successor, Dragon Ball Z, or the latest series, Dragon Ball Super, mangaka Akira Toriyama has shown the world that his ability to write compelling characters is second to none.

Dragon Ball Z is rich with characters, their development, and the many battles they engage in during the various arcs. If you've had the chance to watch Dragon Ball Z from start to end, you're more than aware already how important dialogue is. It's just as important as the punches being thrown, and the victories earned by the good guys. Each fight feels significant, as Saiyans, Z-Fighters, and everyone else deliver speeches to emphasize the importance of them winning, and the weight it carries if they come up short.
