Excessive heat will be in our weather headlines for quite some time as it is not looking to let up anytime soon. Each day features feels-like temperatures ranging from 105-115 degrees and highs in the upper 90s and low 100s. We may get just a little relief in some areas on Sunday as isolated thunderstorms roll through the region. Today: Partly cloudy and very hot as temperatures rise into the upper 90s for most areas.

Dangerous heat is returning to the region as a heat dome is building over the south. Feels-like temperatures will range from 105 to 110 during the next few days, so limit your time in the heat. We may get some brief relief on Sunday as storm chances return to the area, but the excessive heat quickly returns next week. Today: Partly cloudy and hot as highs climb into the upper 90s area-wide. Make sure you are hydrating, especially if you have to be outside. It will feel more like the low 100s.

Flooding rain will remain a concern through the first half of the day as a complex of storms and heavy rain slowly moves south. With high rainfall amounts, some roadways will become flooded. Remember to turn around, don’t drown. The rain will be wrapping up later in the day, and rain chances will be lower until the weekend. Temperatures will soar to the upper 90s and low 100s, and heat advisories are expected to return to the region.
