A member of the Pierz Lions Club for 29 years, Lorae Vardas is somewhat of a living legend among the members and the community it serves. High School Principal Joel Swenson presented to the Royalton School Board about an idea that the administration has developed — a senior portfolio. The District is currently in its second year of developing senior portfolios. Swenson said the portfolios showcases the collection of work and experiences of individual students, as well as their growth and achievements throughout their high school years.
