Thrilled for the opportunity to be a Morrison County Dairy Princess for the first time, Breanna Houdek of Little Falls said her boss, Eli Waldoch, had a big part in her decision to run for the royal honor. “He was the one who told me about (the dairy princess program), because I hadn’t heard much about it before. I knew of them and saw them at fairs, but didn’t know how you could become one or that I was able to do it,” she said.

Besides being passionate about history, Kayla Stielow, site manager of Lindbergh House and Museum in Little Falls, is also zealous about spreading awareness of Rett syndrome. It’s a disorder that hits close to home as her and her husband, John’s 6-year-old daughter, Evelyn, was diagnosed with it in August 2020. According to the Mayo Clinic’s website, Rett syndrome is a rare genetic neurological and developmental disorder that affects the way the brain is developed.

As the Little Falls Area Chamber & Tourism selects an “Employee of the Month” each month amidst a number of nominations, Kelley Columbos, hair stylist at Fresh Hair Professionals in Little Falls was chosen for the month of June. “Wow — what an honor to win! I have spent the last 10 years doing what I love and hopefully brightening people’s days while I do it. I am incredibly grateful to all my clients at Fresh Hair that have allowed me to be a part of their lives in such a unique way,” she said.
