The Bahamas Youth Equestrian Team made its strongest showing to date on the Southern Caribbean Grand Caraïbe circuit, gaining awards in every division at the 2025 Grand Caraïbe Guadeloupe competition this past weekend. The team of Hannah Knowles, Marlo Pinder, Alana Pyfrom and Sennen Fitzmaurice, under the guidance of Coach Raishun Burch, were among 60 riders from six countries competing across three height categories at the La Manade facility in Saint Claude, Guadeloupe.

Young Bahamian tennis player Khai Rees, playing on the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) Tour in Crete, Greece, played a tough match at the M15 Heraklion Series in Crete over the weekend, and fell in straight sets. Before a packed crowd, the only Bahamian on the tour was overwhelmed from the start by the No. 3 seeded Rafael Izquierdo Luque, of Spain. He fell, 6-0 and 6-0. At 25, Luque is nearly 10 years older than Rees and certainly more experienced.

The Bahamas will host the Caribbean Baseball Cup for a second consecutive year, and for the third time in the last four years, this December. The sixth version of the classic is set for December 7-14 at the Andre Rodgers National Stadium in Nassau, The Bahamas. In the championship game a year ago, Curaçao defeated the U.S. Virgin Islands, 2-1, and are set to be back in The Bahamas to defend their title.

Bahamian Valdez ‘VJ’ Edgecombe, already considered a top five prospect in June’s NBA Draft, is in Chicago, Illinois, looking to improve his draft stock by taking part in the NBA Draft Combine. The combine is a multi-day event where college and international prospects showcase their skills and athletic abilities to team officials before the NBA (National Basketball Association) Draft. Edgecombe was one and done in college basketball, declaring for the draft last month on his social media platforms.
