Living with untreated hearing loss increases the risk of depression, anxiety, and social isolation, so overcoming the barriers that prevent hearing aid use can lead to improved mental health. Studies suggest that high prices, uncomfortable designs, and stigma surrounding hearing aids may be why people don’t want to wear them.
