It's that time of the year. Time to comb through all of the YAIAA accomplishments and find the 15 girls who stood out the most. Some excelled in multiple sports, others dominated in one. Bryn Krosse wasn’t old enough to play in the Pennsylvania Golf Association’s Women’s Four-Ball Championship. She was a year shy of the miniumum age. But the 13-year-old received an exemption to play in the June 3 tournament at the Country Club of York based on her finish in last year’s Pa. Junior Girls Amateur. She made the most of that exemption, firing off 10 birdies and eight pars on the vaunted Donald Ross course to break the women’s course record by three shots.

You could have heard the proverbial pin drop in the Spring Grove auditorium on June 6. More than 200 pairs of eyes were locked on the large screen, where a news segment was telling the story of Danny Santulli. He was a 19-year-old college freshman when he suffered severe brain damage after a fraternity incident at the University of Missouri in 2021. Video from inside the frat house showed Santulli being plied with beer while he was told to drink a bottle of vodka during the all-night incident.

YAIAA softball coaches have voted and released their all-stars across three divisions for the 2025 season. Coaches also selected pitchers and players of the year for each division. South Western senior Jayda Koontz, the Division I Pitcher of the Year for the last two seasons, was named the division's player of the year this season. The UMBC recruit hit .610 with 36 hits, eight home runs, eight doubles and 31 RBIs. She also had a .718 ERA with 156 strikeouts and eight shutouts for the league champs.

Nearly two dozen boys volleyball players from Adams, Lebanon and York counties were named to the District 3 all-star teams. Coaches selected players and coaches of the year for Class 2A and 3A and first, second and honorable mention teams. Manheim Central, which defeated York Suburban 3-0 to win the Class 2A title, had the top player and coach. Dylan Musser was named the player of the year and Craig Dietrich was named the coach of the year.
