    We may be in the middle of the spring high school season, but awards are still rolling out for girls basketball. Delone Catholic guard Megan Jacoby was named to the 2025 Pennsylvania Sports Writers All-State Team for the second straight year. The senior was the only YAIAA player voted to the squad by girls basketball writers from around the state. Jacoby earned a spot on the Class 4A second team for the second straight year. The senior finished second in league scoring with just under 17 ppg.

    There is a sound a well-struck volleyball makes. Unlike the drive of a golf ball or the connection of bat on ball, the volleyball sound comes when it hits the floor, not from the item striking it. The perfect combination of arm speed, height above the net and the correct angle that creates the satisfying crack when ball meets floor. And if you haven’t heard it, the sound will draw your attention.

    We have hit the midpoint for most of the spring sports. While the temperatures haven't exactly heated up, the action certainly has. It's time to recognize the players who are getting it done. During the spring, voters can select their top athlete for boys and girls sports. Polls are open from 4 a.m. Mondays through 5 p.m. Wednesday. Winners will be announced on the GameTimePA Instagram account and in the next week's poll story.

    Jay Rexroth never thought he would make it 26 years as a high school basketball coach. Minutes after announcing Wednesday night that he had stepped down as Dallastown's girls basketball coach, Rexroth said it was the biggest surprise of his career. It wasn't the former players who returned to coach with him. It wasn't the players who went on to play in college.
