AbstractWheat stripe rust, caused by Puccinia striiformis f. sp. tritici (Pst), is a significant threat to global wheat production. Genetic resistance plays a crucial role in controlling this disease. Among wheat breeding innovations, the wheat-rye 1BL.1RS translocations are notable for introducing alien genetic diversity, partly due to the presence of the stripe rust resistance gene Yr9 on 1RS.
