    Reports that the Senate wants to leave the state and local tax deduction cap at $10,000 aren’t landing well in the House. “If the Senate reduces the SALT number, I will vote NO and the bill will fail in the House,” Rep. Mike Lawler said in a statement after news that the bill text — which the committee has not yet released — will include the lower cap. For weeks, the Senate Finance Committee has been flirting with paring down the House’s proposal for the SALT deduction.
