1. IntroductionThe integration of solar power in electric vehicles is a compelling feature, as it uses renewable energy in complement to energy sourced from the grid. Many of the recent developments in this type of technology trace back to the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC). The BWSC is a 3000 km international competition where solar-electric vehicles drive from Darwin to Adelaide, Australia [1].
