    On Andrássy Avenue, the most elegant shopping strip in central Budapest, there is one four-story building that is not quite like the others. It is called the House of Terror, and you can tell, because its metallic awnings have the word terror stamped into them. Behind an art installation made of chains and a piece of the Berlin Wall, the building’s facade is decorated with pictures of victims of the Communist regime that once controlled Hungary.

    Abdulkader Sinno thought nothing of a request from the Palestine Solidarity Committee, one of several student groups he advised at Indiana University, to reserve a room for a public event last November.     Politics Airbnb announced that it would stop listing properties in Israeli settlements, as part of a new policy to stop contributing to “existing human suffering.” The day after the company publicized this decision, then–Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Gilad Erdan wrote to governors in Illinois, New York, Florida, Missouri, and California, encouraging them to take action against the global housing company.
