    Gout Gout won the senior men’s 200m final in a wind-assisted 19.84 at the Australian Open & Under 20 Athletics Championships in Perth, Australia, on Sunday (13 April). The race was billed as a rematch between the 17-year-old rising star and world indoor 60m silver medallist Lachlan Kennedy, who defeated Gout at the Maurie Plant meet a fortnight ago. However, Kennedy was disqualified for a false start to leave the path open for the youngster.

    Li Shifeng again failed to shake the monkey off his back as the Chinese fourth seed went down to compatriot Lu Guangzu in three games in the Badminton Asia Championships 2025 semi-finals on Saturday (11 April). Li is now 0-5 for his career against Lu, who reached the championship match with a 19-21, 21-10, 21-14 win. Lu will face Kunlavut Vitidsarn in Sunday’s final, after the Thai shuttler beat Loh Kean Yew in his semi.
