Burnout is a major problem among community health workers (CHWs), but context-specific information on burnout, motivations and job satisfaction are needed to create tailored interventions. This group of CHWs are experiencing burnout mostly in the form of physical exhaustion and are motivated by a sense of pride and value in their work. Interventions to reduce burnout in this group can focus on physical exhaustion and leverage feelings of pride.
