    FOLLOWING a brief appearance at the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday morning, Glenmore murder accused Grayson Beare has begun his 30 days of mental assessment at Fort Napier Hospital in Pietermaritzburg. Beare, who stands accused of killing Halima Hoosen-Preston and attempting to murder her son and husband on June 2, 2024, will return to court on May 15. It is alleged that Beare fatally stabbed Hoosen-Preston at her Glenmore home after she voiced her support for Palestine.

    TRAFFIC calming measures installed to slow down vehicles near Port Natal School once again failed to stop a motorist who ended up crashing into the school fence recently. The accident, which was not the first to have shaken Port Natal School in recent years, happened near the boarding quarters of the school in Umbilo in March.

    AFTER two failed attempts to get Glenmore murder accused, Grayson Beare, inside the dock at the Durban Magistrate’s Court, his lawyer Nyameko Jodwana has confirmed that he will appear before the magistrate on April 15. “He has to appear in court before he is admitted to Fort Napier Hospital on April 15 for his assessment,” said Jodwana. Beare stands accused of killing Glenmore mother, Halima Hoosen-Preston, on June 2, 2024.
