If adopted in the currently proposed form, companies will have more time to comply with the CSRD reporting requirements and the CSDDD supply chain due diligence obligations.

The Council of the European Union adopted a regulation on the reduction of methane emissions in the energy sector (Regulation). Methane is the second-biggest cause of climate change after carbon dioxide, and in the short term has a far higher warming effect. The adoption marks the first EU legal attempt to curb the energy sector’s methane emissions both in Europe and globally.
