Chief Constable Jon Boutcher has welcomed the appointment of three new Assistant Chief Constables (ACCs) to the PSNI’s leadership team. Davy Beck, Ryan Henderson and Melanie Jones have all previously served as temporary ACCs in the force. Justice Minister Naomi Long approved the appointments by the Policing Board.

A man has accused a council of throwing away his brother’s belongings after he died while living in emergency accommodation. Simon Byrne told the BBC he had arranged with Brighton and Hove City Council (BHCC) to collect his brother Chris's personal items, but was "crushed" to find them dumped in a nearby skip. Chris, 29, who died of a drug overdose in April 2022, had been living in Kendal Court, a troubled block of flats in Newhaven, where at least 10 other people died between 2016 and 2021.
