Sellers who list with estate agency Avocado Property, which employs the self-employed agent model, are 37% more likely to have their property sales complete compared to the national average, according to boss Ian Macbeth (pictured)New figures released by the agency show it achieved a 76.4% completion rate between May 2024 and May 2025, significantly outperforming the UK average of 55.7%. A tenant activist group is demanding renters be given immediate powers to claim rent refunds from rogue landlords as the Renters’ Rights Bill is debated in the House of Lords. An estate agent who ‘fraudulently’ took a deposit from a client and then threatened his former boss has been spared jail and handed a community order, it has been reported. Brighton and Hove News reveals that Danny Wood, 47, Wood, of Mill Street, Falmer, appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court after previously pleading guilty to fraud and sending a threat at his first court hearing.
