Alongside the digitised music of streaming services, analogue vinyl records have enjoyed a slow but sustained revival since the mid-2000s. The enduring appeal of vinyl will be celebrated at the Dunedin Record and Pop Culture Fair, which returns for the third time next week.

The StarA local tech team has been turning bricks into bots while gaining an understanding of environmental science. Tahuna Normal Intermediate School pupils recently took part in the South Island regional FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Lego League Challenge. The competition is about building and coding a robot to complete timed "missions" on a large game board.

The StarA newly opened exhibition reveals the daily interests of one of New Zealand’s most important artists. "The Library of Ralph Hotere" at Dunedin Public Library showcases a selection of items owned by Hotere. Heritage collections librarian Donald Kerr said the collection of about 900 items was given to the library in 2021 by Hotere’s widow Mary McFarlane.
