Paddy Mutch, 37, was jailed in January 2024 for sexually assaulting a woman in Norwich who he had threatened with a knife. Sentenced to 15 months at Norwich Crown Court he was placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years. Norwich Magistrates’ Court heard he had been arrested on June 16 after failing to reveal where was living within three days of his release from prison. He had just been released after serving an 18 week sentence for similar breaches.

Tommie Pearmain, 28, did not enter a plea when he appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court over the crime spree in Beccles on June 12. He faces two charges of robbery and allegations of affray and aggravated burglary. Prosecutor Sally Harris said he was accused over a robbery outside Londis on St Anne's Road in Beccles that had involved several people and serious threats of violence.

Driver who crashed in Norwich was over three times drink drive limit (Image: Newsquest) A driver who crashed his BMW on a busy Norwich road was found to be three times over the limit. Drunk driver Jeremy Evans, 50, from Colchester, ploughed into another car on Catton Grove Road on March 1. Norwich Magistrates' Court was told he had made a “horrible error” that had resulted in him losing his job as a result.

Michael Smith, 55, had been due to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court to face five charges including one of inciting a 12-year-old to engage in sexual activity. District Judge Paul Booty was told the defendant had not attended the hearing because he now lives in Prague and had informed the court that he could not afford the air fare to return to the UK.
