Amazon has started operating its first electric truck fleet in Kentucky, according to Spectrum News 1. The rollout of the Rivian-made electric trucks at the Florence shipping hub is part of a company-wide effort to reduce pollution. The cost of these upgrades has totaled over $1 billion and added 20,000 electric vehicles to its U.S. fleet. This is being complemented by a rollout of electric semi trucks for long-distance delivery.

A Redditor encountered a picture of an electric vehicle in the news and needed to share it to r/Polestar. The Polestar 4 in the photo was mistaken for a Tesla and became the victim of pink spray-painted graffiti. "Drive safe, and maybe consider a 'Definitely Not a Tesla' sticker," the original poster wrote in the caption. Tesla vehicles have been subjected to a wide range of vandalism, perhaps in part because of the tarnishing of the brand by CEO Elon Musk.

A member of the world's most endangered sea turtle species was spotted laying eggs along the coast of Texas, according to Chron. The Kemp's ridley had previously been tagged by the Gulf Center for Sea Turtle Research (GCSTR), so staff were on hand to protect the nesting area and recover the eggs for safe breeding. The turtles laid 96 eggs, which was a welcome follow-up on another laying of 99 eggs on the same beach in April.

A set of photos surfaced on the Tourons of Yellowstone (@touronsofyellowstone) Instagram account showing a tourist getting far too close to wild bison. The three shots show a woman holding her hand out to two bison by a trail. One of the animals then advanced aggressively toward her while she ran away. Another woman was taking a photo but quickly got out of the way as well. Meanwhile, adults and a child were walking up the path in the background.

A recent report has made a tally of how much Australian banks are funding the fossil fuel industry, and it isn't pretty, according to Choice. Australian nonprofit Market Forces released a report that identified how much major banks were financing these polluting businesses. It found that 10 banks had poured 74.4 billion Australian dollars (about $48 billion) into coal, oil, and gas in 2023 alone.
