Robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) has achieved the status of preferred surgical technique for prostate cancer (PCa) treatment in numerous healthcare settings worldwide [1]. The steadfast standardisation of the operative steps, coupled with a focused enhancements in patient recovery protocols, has improved surgical outcomes and has consistently reduced the length of stay (LOS). High volume meta-analyses have consistently shown low rates of major postoperative complications [2, 3].

AbstractPositron Emission Tomography-Computed Tomography using Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA PET/CT) is notable for its superior sensitivity and specificity in detecting recurrent PCa and is under investigation for its potential in pre-treatment staging. Despite its established efficacy in nodal and metastasis staging in trial setting, its role in primary staging awaits fuller validation due to limited evidence on oncologic outcomes.

Editorial comment to “Relative Impact of Lymph-node Metastasis and Seminal Vesical Invasion on Oncologic Outcomes Following Radical Prostatectomy” PCAN 2023. Locally advanced prostate cancer with pathological seminal vesicle invasion (pT3b) is a very high-risk disease associated with worse outcome and is considered difficult to cure by radical prostatectomy alone [1]. However, the ideal protocol for additional therapy (adjuvant or salvage) is still debated [2].
