A spokesperson for the Clean Energy Regulator defended its independence, culture and “strong approach to managing conflicts of interest” that includes compulsory annual declarations and training for new employees. It said 16 of the audit’s 17 recommendations had been implemented, “with the final recommendation almost complete”.
