    University of Queensland (UQ) researchers have unveiled a tin halide perovskite (THP) solar cell at a certified record efficiency of 16.65%. Working across UQ’s Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, and the School of Chemical Engineering, Research Lead Professor Lianzhou Wang said the certified reading achieved by his lab was nearly one percentage point higher than the previous best for THP solar cells.

    Queensland-owned energy company Stanwell Corporation will propel the Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners’ (QIPs) Supernode battery energy storage system (BESS) to the largest to date in Australia’s National Electricity Market (NEM), by contracting for a 1,010 MWh offtake in the project’s Stage 3. The agreement will grow Australian green infrastructure investor QIP’s project by an additional 250 MW, to a 750 MW / 2,540 GWh total.

    From pv magazine AustraliaA collaboration of Essential Energy, the CSIRO, Sigenergy Australia, and Austrailan EV company AUSEV have tested and confirmed that V2G technology is market ready in Australia. They jointly made the announcement at Smart Energy 2025 in Sydney. Essential Energy said it has successfully connected AUSEV’s EV Ford F-150 Lightning with a combined charging system (CCS2) DC bi-directional charger and the Clean Energy Council (CEC) approved Sigenergy storage system.
