AbstractBackground: Half of older people are prescribed unnecessary/inappropriate medications that are not routinely deprescribedin hospital hence there is a need for deprescribing trials. We aimed to develop a Core Outcome Set (COS) for deprescribingtrials for older people under the care of a geriatrician during hospital admission. This themed collection on Deprescribing illustrates the breadth and diversity of recent deprescribing research that is leading the way in understanding, developing and evaluating innovative strategies to make deprescribing routine practice.
