LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Folks in Jackson were able to get some nice turkeys for Thanksgiving Monday morning at a special drive-through event hosted by the Jackson Police Department. The turkey handout was hosted at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, and was organized by the police department’s Group Violence Intervention Program. Local families were able to get tasty food for their tables this Thanksgiving with a little less worry about the financial cost of celebrating the holiday.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Michigan State Capitol is installing AI-based gun detection software onto its security cameras to help keep guns from entering the building. The AI-based video analysis platform, developed in 2018 by a company known as ZeroEyes, integrates with a facility’s current existing digital security cameras and scans captured footage in real time.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Union workers have reached a tentative agreement on Friday for a new contract with MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino and Hollywood Casino at Greektown. The new contract covers 3,700 employees and includes, according to a release by the Detroit Casino Council, the largest-ever wage increase negotiated in Detroit’s local casino industry.

She is a sweet gentle girl who just needs a bit of time to settle into a new place. Give her a couple of days, and you’ll see just how friendly and outgoing she can be. Regan came from a quiet home with an older person, and would likely do best in a quieter home with an owner who is willing to be patient while she adjusts to living somewhere new.

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Bath Community Schools has sent a notice to parents confirming it is investigating social media posts regarding one of its staff members. According to an email sent by superintendent Paul Hartsig, the posts were “not violent or threatening” but the school is “investigating the situation.” The email, confirmed by 6 News to be legitimate, in full reads:“Bath Community Schools recently received notice of very concerning posts regarding a staff member.
