    Flight Centre’s wholesaler Infinity Holidays has reportedly made a number of its staff redundant after it shut down its hotel API business. According to several industry sources, the redundancies were made a couple of weeks ago with at least 5-6 people let go. General manager James Whiting was made redundant in December last year.

    Several flights to and from Sydney were cancelled last night after a severe storm battered Sydney and parts of regional New South Wales. More than 40 millimetres of rain fell in Sydney’s CBD between the hours of 20:30 and 23:30, leading to flooding at Town Hall station and thousands of people being left without power. New South Wales’ emergency services was inundated with calls with as many as 1,240 calling with reports of fallen trees, leaks and roofs blowing off.

    You might have heard of greenwashing, but have you heard of consumer-washing? Probably not, but you’ll be familiar with it. Consumer-washing is the practice of ‘misleading’ consumers when it comes to pricing. It is when customers are attracted to buy at a great price, only to find out that, once they have gone to the checkout, their great price has been rendered obsolete by a number of asterisks. Well according to global tech company Travelport, travel is pretty bad at consumer-washing.

    The Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) will be held at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from 27 April to 1 May 2025. Tourism Australia requires all sellers attending the event to submit a front panel graphic with one image representing their business for marketing purposes at ATE25, while Destination NSW requires sellers to submit a back panel graphic with one image representing their business.
