Researchers at the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan University published a study showing a link between anti-Asian racism during the COVID-19 pandemic and increased firearm purchases by Asian Americans. Published in the Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities, the study examined the connection between racism, mental distress, alcohol use and firearm purchasing among Asian Americans.
