The House of Representatives has passed through the second reading a bill for the creation of Orlu State in the southeast region of Nigeria. The bill, sponsored by Hon. Ikenga Ugochinyere, a member representing Ideato North/Ideato South Federal Constituency in Imo State, and 33 others, was presented for the second reading by House leader Hon. Julius Ihonvbere. According to the draft bill, Orlu State would be carved out from Imo, Abia, and Anambra States, with Orlu as its capital city.
