The Eaton Fire has left a devastating mark on Southern California, including the Black and Brown communities of Pasadena and Altadena, where homeowners are grappling with unimaginable loss. Among them is Ruth Hopkins, publisher of The Pasadena Journal, the area’s only Black newspaper. Hopkins lost her family home and with it, over 60 years of archives documenting the rich history, culture, and lives of Black residents in the Altadena-Pasadena area.

Hello, watchmakers. I have a Seiko SRPK29 (photo 1) that I like, except for one thing: the second hand. Having the lume on the back end seems like putting headlights on the back of a car. Anyway, I don't have the skills to change it myself and I'm hoping to connect with somebody who could do a good job for a reasonable price. I want to replace the original second hand with a red one like in photo 2, with good lume on the right end.

November 11, 2024 The newly president-elect of the United States, Donald J. Trump, has shown consistent disdain for veterans, showing a lack of respect for those who serve this nation. Since his rise in politics, Trump has insulted America’s prisoners of war, disrespected a soldier’s grieving family and defamed literal war heroes without the slightest hesitation. Veterans deserve better.
