The 28 works in “Twentieth-Century Nudes from Tate” on view at the Worcester Art Museum function as both a timeline and a study of how the long-established subject transformed.

Art from a Boston church has resurfaced 49 years after it was stolen. The Worcester Art Museum announced Tuesday, Nov. 19, that the missing piece, one of the panels from a triptych stained-glass window, had been reunited with the other two panels already in its possession. Earlier this year, we put out a call to the public to nominate local artists of color they feel passionately about — the creative people whose art inspires awe, creates joy and transforms communities. More than 350 nominations rolled in for all types of artists. Painters. Photographers. Musicians. And for as much as WBUR’s arts reporters and editors track the art scene in Greater Boston, we encountered a load of new talent. It made the process of vetting each nomination both enthralling and agonizing.

In a basement studio at Berklee College of Music in late August, Pranav Swaroop played the violin while listening to a backing track on headphones. The studio, called The Bridge, was impressively quiet, despite the busy streets above. Swaroop adjusted the positioning of his microphone and played again as two of his bandmates watched through a window from behind a massive mixing board in an adjoining control room. “Super, super,” said bandmate Shivaraj Natraj after a particularly satisfying take.

Boston filmmaker Mushen Kieta had his hands full on a Saturday in July. On the left, he held his 2-year-old, Zen. On the right, he held a camera viewfinder up to his face to frame a rare moment of his own siblings reunited. The scene was both a personal and artistic endeavor for the 34-year-old, who assembled his family at A Street Park in South Boston to celebrate Zen’s birthday. To other park visitors, the gathering might have just seemed like an average family get-together.
