There’s a smell of popcorn in the air and murmurs of Pay What You Weigh Night at the Ground Round. Howard Johnson’s started the franchise in Shrewsbury back in 1969 in an effort to convert underperforming locations for traveling guests into family-friendly neighborhood destinations.

Clockwise from top left: The cover art for Ali McGuirk's "Where Does All The $ Come From?" The Worcester Art Museum announced the opening date for new permanent galleries for its arms and armor collection: one of the largest of its kind in America. The galleries will open to the public on Nov. 22 after more than a decade of planning, fundraising and construction. It’s a rock opera underworld, and Sir Babygirl stars as Persephone in a new, original play premiering this weekend. The story begins with Persephone as she wakes up on her last day in Hades, which, in this twist on the classic myth, includes a nightly stage show that she performs as part of her netherworld residency. Plucked arpeggios and insane headlines emanating from the radio establish a tone that blends elements of classic Broadway musicals and theater of the absurd.

… … Hey! Bring some cokes in, please!

Those marks on the ceiling are from me honking my horn from start to finish in that tunnel. Like a singer shattering a wine glass with resonant frequencies.
