Huge Big Party Congratulations! to Australian comic Rhys Nicholson, who is newly married and returns to the Fringe with a brilliant stand-up hour, after the success of their 2022 show. Nicholson is the personification of that little voice in our head that says what we truly think, but sometimes must be squashed because of what society deems ‘proper’ or ‘polite’.

Having shot to fame through her impressions of Edinburgh ghost tour guides on social media, Eleanor Morton is back on the Fringe stage in a haunting hour. Morton has one of the cleverest storytelling structures seen in stand-up this Fringe. Her audience is ‘welcomed’ with jabs and thrills from a spooky voice. Suhani Shah says that she has been called a magician, a mentalist, a psychic, a psychiatrist, and a madwoman. Whichever she may be, she is definitely an excellent performer. The field of magic and mentalism tends to be male-dominated, so it’s refreshing to see Shah blowing away audiences in her act. What’s also special is her comedic flavour and the character she’s created. No serious, quiet, distant mentalists to be found here. Shah is warm, bubbly and quick-witted.
