The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees has told Middle East Eye that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to fully seize Gaza, coupled with the new Israeli-US aid distribution plan for the enclave, appears to be a prelude to a second Nakba. Philippe Lazzarini, the commissioner-general of Unrwa, also criticised Israel for sending a small convoy of trucks carrying vital supplies into the enclave, saying it was "far too little" and that "everyone in Gaza is [going] hungry".

Bolivian ambassador to the Netherlands, Roberto Calzadilla Sarmiento, spoke to Middle East Eye on 30 April outside the International Court of Justice (ICJ) following hearings into Israel's humanitarian obligations in occupied Palestine. In an interview with MEE news editor Sondos Asem, Sarmiento said the court must reaffirm the obligations of Israel as an occupying power in Palestine.

Gladice Pickering, the Executive Director to Namibia's Ministry of Justice, urged the world to hold Israel accountable for its occupation of the West Bank and its war and blockade of Gaza. Pickering was speaking in The Hague, during hearings at the International Court of Justice over Israel's obligations to allow aid into Gaza and Unrwa, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, to operate freely in the besieged strip.

The International Court of Justice on 28 April 2025 began hearings into Israel's obligations towards the presence and activities of the UN, other international organisations and third states in occupied Palestine. Following the proceedings, Middle East Eye News Editor Sondos Asem spoke to Ammar Hijazi, the Palestinian ambassador to international organisations in The Hague and to the Netherlands. Hijazi had spoken to the court that day on the dire situation in Gaza under Israel's complete siege.
