    Fresenius SE commissioned a law firm to investigate the financial performance at its former subsidiary Vamed, which the German health care group has been breaking up and selling since last year. The probe could lead to managers’ bonuses being reclaimed after it’s concluded this year, Fresenius’s executive board member Michael Moser said at the company’s annual general meeting in Frankfurt on Friday. Operational and legal issues as well as risk and control systems are being looked at, he said.

(Bloomberg) -- Germany’s Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH filed with regulators in the US, China and Europe to sell a new treatment for lung fibrosis, marking progress for a disease that kills many patients within five years. The experimental treatment, called nerandomilast, slowed lung-function decline in patients with two forms of organ scarring in a pair of advanced studies, the company said Monday.
