The choice of comparators—Wolverine cutting balloons, NC balloons, and bioabsorbable polymer-coated everolimus-eluting coronary stents—was based on their widespread application in PCI procedures for treating calcified lesions and plaque modification. Participants will be randomly assigned to undergo pre-dilatation with either a Wolverine cutting balloon or an NC balloon before stent implantation.

We used data from the ADNI database (http://adni.loni.usc.edu). ADNI launched in 2003 as a public–private partnership, primarily aims to test whether neuroimaging, other biological markers, and clinical neuropsychological assessment can be combined to measure the progression of MCI and early AD. For this study, we aimed to include patients with MCI who had negative amyloid PET scans. The process of participant selection is depicted in Fig. 1.

AbstractCholinesterase inhibitors (ChEIs) are prescribed for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and sometimes for mild cognitive impairment (MCI) without knowing underlying pathologies and its effect on cognition. We investigated the frequency of ChEI prescriptions in amyloid-negative MCI and their association with cognitive changes in the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) cohort. We included participants with amyloid positron emission tomography (PET)-negative MCI from the ADNI.
