Photomultiplication (PM)-type organic photodetectors (OPDs), which typically form a homogeneous distribution (HD) of n-type dopants in a p-type polymer host (HD PM-type OPDs), have achieved a breakthrough in device responsivity by surpassing a theoretical limit of external quantum efficiency (EQE). However, they face limitations in higher dark current and slower dynamic characteristics compared to p-n heterojunction (p-n HJ) OPDs due to inherent long lifetime of trapped electrons.

[김경희 인천세종병원 심장이식센터장] “뇌사자가 발생했습니다. 30대 여자분인데, 뇌사 원인은 자살입니다. 현재 심장 기능은 괜찮고, 당뇨나 혈압 등은 없습니다. 평소 우울증으로 약을 드셨다고 합니다.”연말연시. 한파 속에서도 여기저기 화려한 조명들로 따뜻함이 가득한 지난해 12월. 심장 이식 코디네이터가 심장 공여자(뇌사자) 발생을 알렸다. 어떤 이에게는 한파일 것이고, 어떤 이에게는 따뜻한 봄일 것이다. 체외 순환기(ECMO)를 한 중증 심부전 환자 김 모님에게는 이 소식이 심장 이식을 받을 수 있다는 희망의 메시지였을 터. 만감이 교차했다. 환갑을 앞둔 환자 분은 이미 당뇨와 고지혈증이 있었다. 어느 날 갑자기 가슴 통증과 호흡곤란을 일으켜 병원으로 이송됐는데, 여기서 심장 이상이 발견되고 쇼크로 발전해 몸속에 체외 순환기를 삽입했다. 심한 관상동맥 질환이 발견돼 관상동맥 우회술도 받았다. 심지어 심실 내 첨포 봉합 성형술(Dor procedure)도 받았다.
