    By April 14, 2025 Medellín, Colombia – Ecuador’s incumbent president, Daniel Noboa, defeated leftwing candidate Luisa González in a runoff election on Sunday. As of Monday afternoon, the National Electoral Council (CNE) reported that Noboa received 55.6% of the vote, with González winning 44.4%, with over 98% of the vote counted. The win is substantial for Noboa, given the narrow margins in the first round of elections in February.
