    Notre Dame students who traveled to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl expected to ring in the new year with hope and excitement. Instead, they were met with fear and terror in the early hours of Jan. 1 when a terrorist drove a truck down Bourbon Street, killing 14 people and injuring 35. Although no Notre Dame students were injured or killed during the attack, many were in the area at the time.

    For the first time during their time at Notre Dame, many students will begin sitting for final exams this Saturday, Dec. 14, due to a schedule change announced Aug. 12 in preparation for the possibility that Notre Dame could host a college football playoff game. Instead of the typical Tuesday through Friday schedule, finals will take place Saturday, and Monday through Thursday, with reading days on Friday and Sunday.

Co-president and senior Jill Maudlin said she was encouraged to check out AccessABLE after reaching out to student recipients of the Matthew Swinton Endowment for Excellence in Service to the Disabled to ask about accessibility at Notre Dame upon her acceptance.
