Namibian President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has fired Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, Mac-Albert Hengari, following allegations of corruption. Hengari was arrested after allegations of rape and bribe surfaced. Hengari was fired folowing the allegations that he bribed a rape victim not to report the case. The dismissal of Hengari aligns with Nandi-Ndaitwah’s stance on corruption.

The regional organisations are working hard to try and find a lasting solution to the current conflict in the DRC. The M23 group has announced that it is willing to engage in peace talks. The government of the DRC has ruled out a possibility of engaging with the M23.

By Sophie MokoenaIt is not clear how many of them will be brought back to the country. Last month, 14 SANDF members were killed in fighting between the M23 rebels and the Congolese military. The process of bringing the injured members of the SANDF has been a difficult one. The M23 is insisting that the only route that will be cleared for evacuation will be through the Rwandan border. SA was not keen to go through Rwanda fearing humiliation by the Rwandan authorities.
