Esophageal motility can be assessed with manometry and functional lumen imaging probe (FLIP) panometry. Peristaltic vigor is quantified by the metric of distal contractile integral (DCI) on high-resolution manometry (HRM), whereas no analogous metric exists for FLIP. Novel FLIP panometry metrics of contraction power and displace volume are introduced and demonstrated to correlate with DCI on HRM and predict esophageal bolus clearance.
