Gold prices in Hyderabad rose sharply on Tuesday, marking the highest recorded levels in the last six months. The price of 24-carat gold stood at Rs 10,135 per gram, registering an increase of Rs 300 from the previous day's rate. The cost of 22-carat gold also saw a notable rise, reaching Rs 9,290 per gram, up by Rs 275. Meanwhile, the price of 18-carat gold was recorded at Rs 7,601 per gram, higher by Rs 225 compared to the previous session.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a persistent heatwave in several districts of Telangana, with Hyderabad set to experience a sharp rise in daytime temperatures from Thursday onwards. According to the latest five-day forecast issued by the Meteorological Centre, Begumpet, the state capital is expected to see maximum temperatures climb from the current 36-40 degrees Celsius range to 41-44 degrees Celsius starting Thursday and continuing through Friday.

In a move to simplify civic service access and reduce foot traffic at GHMC counters, the corporation announced that citizens can now digitally update their contact information through its official online portal.

Paneer has been identified as India’s most adulterated food item, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) reported Tuesday. An FSSAI survey conducted in April 2024 found that 47 of 168 paneer and khoya samples failed safety parameters. Earlier this year, enforcement teams intercepted and destroyed 1,300 kg of fake paneer on the Mumbai-Delhi Expressway. The FSSAI report cited addition of starch, detergent and formalin in paneer samples. Starch cuts protein content.

A report from Nasscom and Zinnov, titled India’s GCC Leap: Capturing Global Mid‑Market Momentum, examines the evolving role of mid‑market Global Capability Centres (GCCs) in India’s technology services exports. India hosts more than 480 mid‑market GCCs, employing over 210,000 staff across 680 units. These centres represent 27 percent of all GCCs in the country and 22 per cent of total GCC units.
