Gardening is a continuum that ranges from those who do not consider their day complete without having dirt under their fingernails from working in the garden and those like me who are lucky to keep a plant green and alive. I am really good at making plants brown that aren’t supposed to be brown. My wife Margo was the first kind of gardener with the greenest of thumbs.
