1. IntroductionThis study seeks to identify environmental security issues at the local or community levels using the concept of positive peace. Peace research has generally centered on negative peace, or what Galtung (1969) defines as the absence of direct and physical violence rather than positive peace, or the elimination of indirect and structural forms of violence.
