    LIMA, OH (WLIO) – After more than 30 years of service, Lima Police Chief James Baker will officially retire on Friday. Baker, who was born and raised in Lima, said he knew he wanted to serve and protect his hometown from a young age. That desire was sparked when he was handed a crossing guard badge in the sixth grade. He joined the Lima Police Department in May 1992 and has steadily moved through the ranks, introducing new and innovative programs to improve the department’s efficiency and reach.
