Video game movies are en vogue right now. No sooner is A Minecraft Movie's box office domination coming to an end is Until Dawn waiting to replace it. Disney seemed to have given the Toy Story series the perfect ending with Toy Story 3. It brought the cast back together in a meaningful way, offered them a suitable send-off, reminded us all why we cared so much about the movies in the first place, and underlined the importance of letting go of the past so the new generation can thrive.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is due to release in cinemas on November 20, 2026 with the book fresh off the presses. This is significantly faster than The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, which released in print in 2020 and arrived on the silver screen in 2023. As such, the race is on for casting.

Ryan Coogler is on an almighty high right now. The director of Sinners has never had a movie even close to being anything other than Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, having also directed Black Panther and Creed amongst other hits. However, Sinners opened to a perfect score, and even now has settled at a hugely impressive 99 percent.
